Why sacrifices in the millennium

To what time period does this passage refer? Is this gathering of Israel after the 70 year captivity or is it the gathering for the millennial reign of Christ? There is nothing in the Word of God that tells us that Gentiles were gathered for the return to Jerusalem after the 70 year captivity. So because this passage speaks of the gathering of Gentiles i.

In short, Is. Therefore, I believe that there will be sacrifices in the millennium. His ways are not our ways. We read in Zech. Behold the Man Whose name is The Branch; and He shall grow up out of His place, and He shall build the temple of the Lord; even He shall build the temple of the Lord; and He shall bear the glory and shall sit and rule upon His throne ; and He shall be a priest upon His throne…….

Christ is the only One Who can fill the role of both Priest and King , therefore this passage refers to Christ building a temple. Because He has not yet built a temple, we must conclude that He will build His temple for His millennial reign. There are many verses in Ezekiel chapters that describe how animal sacrifices are to be made. But some believe that these chapters concern, not the millennial temple, but the temple described in Ezra that was built by the returning captives.

So let us first determine from Scripture that these chapters do indeed concern the millennial temple. I believe the following points will prove from Scripture that the temple, as described in Ezekiel, concern the millennial temple , and that the laws described in relation to this temple are, of course, also millennial. Let us begin with Ezek. It is important to note that the Bible never says that the temple built by Ezra was filled with the glory of the Lord. Now let us consider Ezek.

There are several phrases of importance in terms of whether this passage speaks of a millennial temple. In this verse the idea of victory over enemies is obvious. Here is a summary of the animal sacrifices in Leviticus and Ezekiel. Why are the animal sacrifices resumed during the millennium?

Some churches call it communion. We are to remember what Christ did for us 1 Corinthians The millennial sacrifices will also remind us of Christ since each sacrifice has a special symbolic meaning or reminder of Christ.

The millennial kingdom is the time when Christ will rule on the earth before the heavens and earth are destroyed. Zechariah is one important description of the kingdom on earth. Joel is another description.

Christ will rule as king and be worshipped. The Feast of Booths will be celebrated Zechariah in the millennial kingdom along with two other feasts. The feast of the Lord will point us to Christ and the sacrifices will point us to Christ. The atonement-cleansing was necessary in Leviticus because the Shekinah Glory dwelt in the Tabernacle Ex. God resided in the midst of sinful, unclean people. Those born will still have to trust Christ by faith to become saved.

For a more in-depth study of this issue, see Jerry M. David M. All of which are in direct contrast to the sacrificial statutes that Moses implimented. So it does appear that this is an entirely new sacrificial system in the millennial kingdom.

That was my first thought too. Why would we need cleansing? We been made clean. Unless it might be the earth itself is unclean? Sacrifices as a form of outward ritual cleansing for pre-millennial converts, is not much different than water baptism as a form of outward ritual cleansing for church-age converts. Neither are salvific, and neither compete with salvation by faith. I have struggled with the sacrifices since I learned of them, and at least the cleansing of defilement gives a reasonable reason for them.

I would think standing with Jesus would constitute salvation, thus cleansing. I know, I know — too much earthly logic. I hope I will be given a chance to see the answers to these questions. Are not the print of the nails in His hands and feet sufficient Jn.

The whole confusing series of events with this temple view stems from an eschatological view that disregards the appropriate interpretation of literal scripture literally and figurative scripture figuratively. No other blood is any longer qualified to atone for sin or make ceremonially unclean. I wonder if not everyone going into the millennium is saved, that is, in particular the Jews. Perhaps they recognize Jesus as their Messiah and world ruler but not yet as God; and this is a progressive revelation during the time they minister at their promised temple during their promised world reign.

I definitely have a hard time wrapping my head around all this. At least taking a shower has medical benefits.
