The installation of the oil filter is a straight forward process with the simple screw-on type canister. Fits MCM V-6 inboard models which have the oil filter mounted on the engine block.

I did not trust it enough to use it. The inspection revealed that I could have used it, but I had no idea what operational effect my dented section would have.
The vendor promptly sent me a replacement. One of the things I wanted to observe was the impact of the center hump of the spring being off center on the end of the tube.
I had noticed some were off center, but I now see that a little variation does not affect oil flow. Other websites have this one cut open but I provide more pictures and some comments. The inner tube is a plastic cage. Note how the white "flannel" on the spring end of the filter is rolled over the edge, allowing the center hump of the spring to seal nicely.
The anti drainback valve ADBV has a long neck and fits inside the other end where the "flannel" cut so as not to roll over the edge. This design has no pressure relief valve.
